Favorite Utah Hikes

Mike and I love being outside and we frequently hike together or with our family and friends!

Below is a list of some of our favorite hikes that are close by:

Horse Tail Falls in Alpine- just did this one for the first time last weekend and I am pretty sure we are going again this weekend! It was breath taking!!

The Y in Provo

Bridal Veil Falls in Provo- this is paved and flat so its more of a walking or running trail than a hike.  I love to go running on this trail!

Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove

Ghost Falls in Draper (multiple trail heads here!)- Mike proposed to me on this trail so it has a special spot in my heart. I don't have any pictures of this one.

Timpanogos Cave

Donut Falls in Little Cottonwood Canyon- This requires some technical climbing to actually get to the "donut" if you can do it, it is so worth it!

Potato Hill in Draper (multiple trail heads here and they are all wonderful!)- We took some of our wedding pictures here!

Stewart Falls in Provo- also so breath taking!

I have realized that I love waterfall hikes! I always feel like you can only see waterfalls in tropical places- like the road to hana in Maui ;)- I am always so surprised with how many we have all around us in Utah! Utah is rad!

lots of love,

Lake Powell- Trip 1

We went to my favorite place this last week! I have always loved Lake Powell, probably because my family has been going since I was 1 year old, because it is always so beautiful, because we disconnect from all work and electronics, because we get to spend quality time together and because I love to ski, wakeboard, surf, etc. It is what I look forward to all year long! I can't wait to go again in a few weeks! I made this little video of our trip, it was the first video I have ever made so its a little rusty! It was all recorded on my phone too, so the picture quality isn't great, I think Mikey needs to buy me a nice camera so I can do more of these...

lots of love,

Feelin 22

Mike just had another birthday!  I love celebrating him and doing little things to make him feel special!  He does so much for us at work, school, and in our little home so it was so fun to let him have a weekend of fun and relaxation! His birthday fell on Friday and we had my sister's graduation in the morning and then we went to lunch with my side of the family and then he went straight off to work. So I had the afternoon to bake him a cake (I have not baked a cake in over 3 years... but it turned out okay!) and to get everything ready.  We had decided that we would take it easy Friday night and then go out to dinner on Saturday. So I made a fort at home and got take out for dinner that night.  It was so fun to watch a movie in our little fort with our yummy food and treats! I also learned I need to brush up on my fort building skills!

I woke him up with Taylor Swift's "22" song and then we got right to business with opening presents!

On Saturday we were supposed to go zip lining for one of his presents from me, but they cancelled the tour we were going to take, so we will have to do that in the next few weeks! That night we went to Goodwood BBQ, which is his favorite! I sure love my husband! He is my absolute best friend and he is the person I love with my entire being. Happy Birthday lover boy! Thanks for choosing me!

Building the fort was a lot of trial and error, it took me about an hour to do- I am not proud of that haha!  But I used lots of furniture, string, command hooks, clothes pins, and sheets.  On the ground I used lots of thick blankets and pillows to make it comfy! I also added some string lights and used our lighted marquee letters to add some light! It was so fun and I would definitely do it again!

Happy birthday Mikey!
all of my love,
Brookey
